Introducing the Saab Scania Club Italia.<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"200\" data-end=\"381\">We are pleased to inform you that the <strong data-start=\"238\" data-end=\"265\">Saab Scania Club Italia<\/strong>, the Historical Registry of the Swedish brand, has now completed its preparations and is officially up and running.<\/p><p data-start=\"383\" data-end=\"617\">We aim to <strong data-start=\"393\" data-end=\"432\">celebrate the legacy of Saab Scania<\/strong>, a company that built airplanes, automobiles, computers, hydrofoils, hovercrafts, missiles, satellites, buses, tractors, and trucks \u2014 reaching the pinnacle of its success in the 1980s.<\/p><p data-start=\"619\" data-end=\"937\">Our goal is to <strong data-start=\"634\" data-end=\"689\">bring together enthusiasts of the Saab Scania brand<\/strong>, creating opportunities to meet at events and activities we organize, and to enjoy being part of a cohesive group of friends. The Club will be a place of relaxation and enjoyment, enhanced by that unique bond formed through our wonderful vehicles.<\/p><p data-start=\"939\" data-end=\"1050\">We want to <strong data-start=\"950\" data-end=\"967\">fill the void<\/strong> left in the world of classic vehicles by the prestigious creations of Saab Scania.<\/p><p data-start=\"1052\" data-end=\"1373\">Saab Scania was much more than cars, and we therefore want to <strong data-start=\"1114\" data-end=\"1208\">promote, safeguard, and enhance the knowledge of the entire Saab Scania Group\u2019s production<\/strong>, while seeking to understand the context and culture in which Saab Scania was born and developed in Sweden, and its contribution to the country\u2019s industrial growth.<\/p><p data-start=\"1375\" data-end=\"1476\">The <strong data-start=\"1379\" data-end=\"1406\">Saab Scania Club Italia<\/strong>, reflecting the structure of the original Swedish industry, includes:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1477\" data-end=\"1637\"><li data-start=\"1477\" data-end=\"1506\"><p data-start=\"1479\" data-end=\"1506\">A <strong data-start=\"1481\" data-end=\"1506\">Historic Car Register<\/strong><\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1507\" data-end=\"1588\"><p data-start=\"1509\" data-end=\"1588\">An <strong data-start=\"1512\" data-end=\"1537\">Aeronautical Register<\/strong>, featuring a historic 1954 Saab Safir 91C aircraft<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1589\" data-end=\"1637\"><p data-start=\"1591\" data-end=\"1637\">A <strong data-start=\"1593\" data-end=\"1637\">Register for Trucks, Buses, and Tractors<\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1639\" data-end=\"1818\">We will also be active in <strong data-start=\"1665\" data-end=\"1685\">Historic Rallies<\/strong> for interested members. These activities have been entrusted to Vice President <strong data-start=\"1765\" data-end=\"1781\">Dino Vicario<\/strong>, a well-known historic rally driver.<\/p><p data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"2205\">On <strong data-start=\"1823\" data-end=\"1844\">August 27th, 2025<\/strong>, to celebrate our official launch, we gathered in <strong data-start=\"1895\" data-end=\"1914\">Carzago Riviera<\/strong> (see attached photos) several member-owned cars from the Register, alongside a <strong data-start=\"1994\" data-end=\"2019\">1979 Scania 141 truck<\/strong> and their ideal predecessor, the <strong data-start=\"2053\" data-end=\"2080\">Saab Safir 91C aircraft<\/strong>. This is particularly meaningful as Saab&#8217;s first automobile project was numbered 92 \u2014 following directly after the Safir 91.<\/p><p data-start=\"2207\" data-end=\"2539\">We seek to highlight a brand that stood out for producing \u2014 in its time \u2014 <strong data-start=\"2281\" data-end=\"2355\">modern, innovative, prestigious, and technologically advanced vehicles<\/strong>. We aim to underscore the unique technical choices made by Saab Scania, while bringing together enthusiasts who own and identify with the values of the traditional Saab customer base.<\/p><p data-start=\"2541\" data-end=\"2964\"><strong data-start=\"2541\" data-end=\"2563\">Italy\u2019s art cities<\/strong> will serve as the perfect backdrop for the <strong data-start=\"2607\" data-end=\"2652\">International Elegance Cup \u201cSixten Sason\u201d<\/strong>, established by the Register. Its debut will take place on <strong data-start=\"2712\" data-end=\"2732\">June 19\u201320, 2026<\/strong> in the stunning surroundings of <strong data-start=\"2765\" data-end=\"2799\">Lake Garda, Mantua, and Verona<\/strong>, with the start line at a private airstrip in the presence of the Saab Safir 91C. This will mark our <strong data-start=\"2901\" data-end=\"2932\">1st International Gathering<\/strong>, open to Saab aircraft as well.<\/p><p data-start=\"2966\" data-end=\"3125\">The Club aspires to <strong data-start=\"2986\" data-end=\"3021\">give an international dimension<\/strong> to our events, welcoming foreign vehicles and also participating in major events held by foreign clubs.<\/p><p data-start=\"3127\" data-end=\"3337\">The presence of representatives from the <strong data-start=\"3168\" data-end=\"3239\">USA, Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Germany, and the UK<\/strong> in our board as Guest Advisors and Ambassadors reflects the <strong data-start=\"3300\" data-end=\"3324\">international spirit<\/strong> of the Club.<\/p><p data-start=\"3339\" data-end=\"3577\">As for the car register, the following models are admitted:<br \/><strong data-start=\"3399\" data-end=\"3501\">92, 93, GT750, 94 Sonett I, 95, 96, Formula Junior, 97 Sonett II &amp; III, 99, 900, 600, 90, and 9000<\/strong>, as well as other vehicles <strong data-start=\"3529\" data-end=\"3576\">designed and\/or built between 1947 and 1989<\/strong>.<\/p><ul data-start=\"3579\" data-end=\"3798\"><li data-start=\"3579\" data-end=\"3660\"><p data-start=\"3581\" data-end=\"3660\">The <strong data-start=\"3585\" data-end=\"3610\">Aeronautical Registry<\/strong> is managed by Vice President <strong data-start=\"3640\" data-end=\"3659\">Giovanni Marchi<\/strong>.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"3661\" data-end=\"3798\"><p data-start=\"3663\" data-end=\"3798\">The <strong data-start=\"3667\" data-end=\"3693\">Truck and Bus Registry<\/strong> is led by Vice President <strong data-start=\"3719\" data-end=\"3738\">Massimo Condolo<\/strong>, a well-known journalist and respected expert in the field.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"3800\" data-end=\"3936\">The iconic \u2014 and revolutionary for its time \u2014 <strong data-start=\"3846\" data-end=\"3863\">Saab 99 Turbo<\/strong> is the central car from which our Register&#8217;s automotive journey unfolds:<\/p><ul data-start=\"3937\" data-end=\"4054\"><li data-start=\"3937\" data-end=\"3998\"><p data-start=\"3939\" data-end=\"3998\"><strong data-start=\"3939\" data-end=\"3959\">Looking backward<\/strong>: from the <strong data-start=\"3970\" data-end=\"3984\">Sonett III<\/strong> to the <strong data-start=\"3992\" data-end=\"3998\">92<\/strong><\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"3999\" data-end=\"4054\"><p data-start=\"4001\" data-end=\"4054\"><strong data-start=\"4001\" data-end=\"4020\">Looking forward<\/strong>: from the <strong data-start=\"4031\" data-end=\"4038\">900<\/strong> to the <strong data-start=\"4046\" data-end=\"4054\">9000<\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"4056\" data-end=\"4210\">Not by chance, the motto of our Register is inspired by a phrase well known among Saab 99 Turbo enthusiasts:<br data-start=\"4164\" data-end=\"4167\" \/><strong data-start=\"4167\" data-end=\"4210\">&#8220;Not for everyone. Essential for many.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"4212\" data-end=\"4453\">The <strong data-start=\"4216\" data-end=\"4271\">restoration, preservation, or faithful reproduction<\/strong> of the vehicles&#8217; original features is one of the primary goals of the Saab Scania Club Italia. We align ourselves with national and international bodies that share these principles.<\/p><p data-start=\"4455\" data-end=\"4681\">We aim to <strong data-start=\"4465\" data-end=\"4546\">catalog all Saab Scania vehicles, aircraft, trucks, buses, and other machines<\/strong> currently in Italy by creating dedicated model-specific registers, many of which are already active and managed by individual members.<\/p><p data-start=\"4683\" data-end=\"4845\">We are open to the <strong data-start=\"4702\" data-end=\"4744\">contributions of each and every member<\/strong> \u2014 and we hope many of you will join \u2014 to share in our goals and bring forward your ideas and energy.<\/p><p data-start=\"4847\" data-end=\"5170\">We have also created a <strong data-start=\"4870\" data-end=\"4881\">library<\/strong> gathering everything written about Saab Scania, and we are happy to make it <strong data-start=\"4958\" data-end=\"4989\">freely available to members<\/strong>, translated into Italian, alongside more technical literature (manuals, instruction booklets, etc.), not to mention the many <strong data-start=\"5115\" data-end=\"5124\">films<\/strong> in which Saab vehicles played starring roles.<\/p><p data-start=\"5172\" data-end=\"5347\">Club-branded <strong data-start=\"5185\" data-end=\"5204\">custom clothing<\/strong> is also available directly from our supplier, based on agreed specifications and <strong data-start=\"5286\" data-end=\"5302\">at no profit<\/strong> to the Club (thus no extra cost to members).<\/p><p data-start=\"5349\" data-end=\"5520\">We also want to make a <strong data-start=\"5372\" data-end=\"5389\">social impact<\/strong>, dedicating time and effort to <strong data-start=\"5421\" data-end=\"5447\">charitable initiatives<\/strong>, where we and our vehicles can contribute to helping the less fortunate.<\/p><p data-start=\"5522\" data-end=\"5685\">The Club is born out of <strong data-start=\"5546\" data-start=\"778\" data-end=\"813\">Saab 9000 CS Anniversary (1998)<\/strong>\u2014all splendid examples belonging to the enthusiastic members of the <strong data-start=\"881\" data-end=\"935\">Italian Historic Registry of the Saab Scania brand<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"938\" data-end=\"1226\">The members in attendance had the opportunity to visit the extraordinary the benevolent gaze of the God Orion sculpted by Montorsoli in the monumental fountain that bears his name \u2014 described as <em data-start=\"289\" data-end=\"354\">\u201cthe most beautiful fountain of the European sixteenth century\u201d<\/em> \u2014 some of the most beautiful Swedish cars from the Saab Scania Club Italia, the Historical Register of the Saab Scania brand, gathered for a photo shoot.<\/p><p data-start=\"512\" data-end=\"857\">Thanks to the kind concession of the location by the Messina authorities, it was possible to capture some extraordinary shots that immortalized the elegance and history of Saab Scania\u2019s prestigious Swedish vehicles in this monumental square, dominated by the magnificent bell tower with the world\u2019s largest and most complex astronomical clock.<\/p><p data-start=\"859\" data-end=\"1210\">The Duomo complex of Messina, originally built during the reign of Emperor Justinian I, under Pope Boniface II, by General Belisarius in the year 530, served as the setting in which Saab Scania Club Italia wished to honor the ties of its President and Founder, Antonio Pellegrino, and Vice President, Giovanni Pagano, with their native city.<\/p><p data-start=\"1212\" data-end=\"1450\">Saab Scania Club Italia aims to celebrate the epic history of Saab Scania, whose peak success in the 1980s saw the Group producing aircraft, automobiles, computers, hydrofoils, hovercraft, missiles, satellites, buses, tanks, and trucks.<\/p><p data-start=\"1452\" data-end=\"1698\">The Saab Scania Club Italia includes, in addition to the Historic Car Register, an Aeronautical Register featuring two historic aircraft (a Saab Safir 91C and a Viggen fighter jet), and a Register dedicated to trucks, buses, and other vehicles.<\/p><p data-start=\"1700\" data-end=\"2002\">Italy\u2019s art cities will provide the backdrop for showcasing the <strong data-start=\"1764\" data-end=\"1809\">\u201cSixten Sason\u201d International Elegance held at the Rho Fairgrounds from 21 to 23 November 2025.<\/p><p data-start=\"100\" data-end=\"404\">The Registry exhibited three splendid members\u2019 cars, which visibly moved the large and knowledgeable audience in attendance:<\/p><p data-start=\"406\" data-end=\"463\">a 1979 Saab 96, a 1991 Saab 900 Aero, and a 1976 Saab 95.<\/p><p data-start=\"465\" data-end=\"827\">Equally admired was the large background image depicting a 1964 Scania 110 truck and a Viggen fighter jet, along with other vehicles, as a reminder of the broad production of the Swedish Group, which manufactured aircraft, automobiles, computers, hydrofoils, hovercraft, missiles, satellites, buses, railway carriages, and trucks, before being dissolved in 1989.<\/p><p data-start=\"829\" data-end=\"1069\">Saab Scania represented an industrial, technological, and design excellence that feared no rivals on the world stage, an achievement born of the industriousness and ingenuity of a nation that at the time had only about 6,000,000 inhabitants.<\/p><p data-start=\"1071\" data-end=\"1416\">The Registry, whose aims are primarily cultural, organized two conferences on the History of Saab Scania and the Tipo 4 Project, held respectively by the President Antonio Pellegrino and Alfredo Stola of STUDIOTORINO, moderated by the well-known journalist Massimo Condolo, President of the Bus and Truck Registry of Gathering of the Saab Scania Club Italia and the Italian Historical Registry of the brand was held in the splendid settings of Piazza Sordello in Mantua and Piazza Bra in Verona.<\/p><p>Numerous vehicles took part, arriving not only from Italy but also from Germany, Poland, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.<\/p><p>At the conclusion of the event in Piazza Bra, Verona, the \u201cSixten Sason\u201d Elegance Cup, a trophy established by the Italian Historical Registry jointly with the Saab Club Nederland, was awarded.<\/p><p>The winner is Davide Turchet\u2019s 1993 Saab 900 Convertible, named \u201cBest of Show.\u201d<\/p><p>In the Saab 900 category\u2014excluding convertibles\u2014the winner was the splendid 1991 Aero coup\u00e9 owned by Ermanno De Marchi.<\/p><p>The winner of the Saab 99 category was Hanna Rowi\u0144ski\u2019s 1969 vehicle from Poland, while the queen of the 9000 class was the 1993 car owned by Frank and Hanna Schneider from Germany.<\/p><p>The Meeting format was highly appreciated, allowing participants to visit enchanting villages such as Castellaro Lagusello and Borghetto, the Ducal Palace and the Camera degli Sposi in Mantua, the Tower of San Martino della Battaglia, and the Castle of Valeggio sul Mincio.<\/p><p>At the end of the award ceremony in Piazza Bra, crews who wished to do so were able to attend the opera *La Traviata* at
